My first LJ in TVPS

No no... LJ is not the normal vulgarity you might think of. LJ means Learning Journey. I went with my class (2 Hope) to my first visit to Botanical Gardens.

Actually, the date clash with my marking of CA1 chinese pprs. But then, i didnt know of the actual day of chinese ppr (or rather i was ignorant of it). Hence, had to bge very thick skin to tell my LH (Level Head) that i cant mark the pprs together with the rest of the dept as i am gg out.

Cuase i am teaching the majority of this class chinese, so i am nt really unfamiliar with them. A few of my "God sons and daughter" actually wanted to sit with me. haha.. Quite funny lor. THe way they argue their way thru. In the end, the monitor gt the chance to sit with me. THe feeling quite fuuny. Like i some sort of celebrity, arguing with one another to sit with me. But tis is the way of the lwr pri students. Once they move up to upper pri, its a totally different case.

Though the trip was tiring, it was quite fun at the same time. The way the little monsters gt excited at many many different things. haha... Kids.........

Chinese New Year (Final)

See the 1st Pic? I was so surprised to see this on the altar in my family. For years, my mum used to buy real pineapples to offer at the altar. When she saw this "fake pineapple" last yr, she even commented that how can they replaced the real thing with this thingy? But haha... Tis yr she also do the same thing lor. But for the 4 guys @ home, we have no objection. I prefer jelly anytime to the real pineapple.

2nd pic: Went to one of my colleague's house to "bai nian". Never expect her to give me an ang pow though i was contantly urging her to give me an ang pow, haha.. The design quite cute lor. Like Hummdy Dumpdy.

3rd Pic: This is the pair of oranges that accompanied me to every house visit throughout the 15 days of celebration. I just put a pair of orangbes in my car just in case i last min gg someone's house to "bai nian" and don hav any oranges on hand.

4th Pic: On the 15th day, decided to lao yu sheng with my family. THough my dad and youngest bro nt there, i still decided to go buy the yu sheng cause this is something i really like ans its nt available 365 days a year. Bout at Sakae Sushi for less than $18. Quite worth it, though the crystal jade one was much nicer (but more ex)

One term has come to an end. Finally can take a break from the crowd of ongoing mad rush of students and work. Had upteen things to blog about but will onli do so in the following days...

Had a BBQ session @ Esther's place jus nw. Was a good one. Had represetatives from all PLCs, heheh... Managed to find out more info abt each PLC and their views on the various issues.

One thing i didnt expect... My hair colour is one of the hot topic in school. Pple who know me since Sec days will know i am mentally towards more of the Bengz type. However, i didnt expect almost all the PLC were talking abt my hair colour. Initially, i know my dept and IR2 was talking abt it. Today then i realise tat even Ohana was talking abt it! Woah... My hair colour is not exactly screaming for attention lor. Its jus tat i bleach some parts of my hair then i dye my hair. But pple starts saying," Matthew, your hair colour a bit special ar... Even when i nt in sch, i also know abt it.."

Heh heh. But i don care bahz. Tis is the real me ever since I discovered hair colouring during JC times. It was torturous for the last 6 mths to keep black/dark brown hair. Nw the principal says can dye hair alr, then of course i can dye the way i wanted it, juz nt too screaming for attention (ie yellow,white).

All guys and gals! Go! Dye ur hair.....

strange X 2

Went for a SEL course recently. Find something very strange abt my head. She was talking abt another head of another sch which i went for practicum. She refer to her as" you know hor, your head everytime attire is the same."

1) Why is she refering to her, while whispering to me (as usual), as " My Head"? Yes, i know tat my prac used to be there and she used to be one of my CT. But nw i am in YOUR sch. Why the term as "Your"? haha..... Maybe she doesnt count me as one of her suboordinate? Might as well. dont send me for courses then. why give me things to do when i'm "nt under your list"? You asked me to do the koolbits but whenever i asked you abt the arrival of the software, your reply is everytime the same "I dont know"... Wow... My head don know, so I should know? Then when something goes wrong, then you say things like "Actually tat time i saw this prob alr. You should have done like tis, like this...." How excellent!

2) Who are you to criticise her? Look at your ownself! Dont you think you look like a piece of old and unwanted curtain floating around? You mean your fav piece of red flowery dress is an excellent piece of attire? C'mon. Don decieve yourself. At least tat head gt more fashion sense than you. She also doesnt go around pple and try to lean on their shoulder. At least when she walks, she gt the "say" of a head, nt like some hippo ard.

C'mon! Be realistic! Look at yourself first before u start to talk abt others.... Reflect!

Strange....

Notice a strange phenomenon today. Actually nt strange to see it happening but then to have it happen in my surrounding today, it seems a bit out of place. Nt really sure wat is happening.

Fann Wong once said," We are only colleaugues, nt frenz." How feasible is tat sentence to be used in todays society? Colleagues have the word "league" in them, which means actually a grp of things. Doesnt tat symbolise unity or at least, something similar to tat? Someone said soemthing similar to me once. " Frenz r hard to get once we step out into the Dog eat Dog world. " haha, to some extent, though i have unfortunately met with some wof in sheep skin pple in my life b4 i step into the society, i nvr imagine tat i can see a real life example unfolding itself b4 my very own eyes.

Anyway, today very tired. Sianz till cannot alr. Jus nw took a nap and hence, gt energy to blog now. gg to slp soonest possible. feel eyes closing v soon........

New Year Eve

Woah... Another year just passed by. Nt sure whether you guys notice this but it seems like time passed in a twinkle of an eye when u starts working. I used to think that CNY is finally here but now, its more of like "wat? CNY is here again?" hhaha...Time to give and take ang pows. Tis is also the 1st yr i am giving ang pows to my parents.

Had CNY celebration in sch today. A teacher told me tat its been a long time since they had such a fun and big scale CNY Celebration. Wah... a bit sad to hear tat lehz. but today's celebration was a big sucess until the very end whereby it gt a bit chaotic. Its okie, CNY lehz...... Supposed to get all noisy and chaotic. Was the Emcee for the concert today. Wore a super red ang pow china collar shirt to Sch.(Well, since i am gg to be the joker being a compere, then might as well just go all out for it.) Update you guys more abt it after i get the pics.

Went to Compass Point last monday to do some last min shopping for clothes and new yr deco. This was the situation at Cold Storage....
