102th Post----> Angry!!

Damn it. WTF!

Received word from my HOD tat my former student mum actually wrote a letter to complain.

Complaints

1) Last Yr, the teacher (I) gave a lot of impromtu tests causing thwe parents to panic when they saw thew test pprs returned back to them.

2)Last Yr, they didnt recieve any feedback from the teahcer (Me again) about their daughter;s poor results.

3) This Yr,, their new chinese teacher (my colleague) was a relief teacher onli teaching them for a short period of time.

4) This Yr, the chinese teacher should do something about their daughter;s poor result (i.e. Remedial for their daughter)

My thinking twds the complaints

1) I didnt do any impromtu tests for my class last yr. All of them were told beforehand about the test at least 2 days. All were told to write down in their com bk. Even if i did give impromtu test, think other parents complaints wld come in even before she did after Term 1 in Yr 2008. I don think she checked with the child throughly before she wrote the feedback email.

2) When i received the class last yr, I was told that this child performance was poor. Hence, when the result of the child came out, i jus accepted the results since it was told to me tat she is poor. Nw the parent complained tat i didnt feedback top them. Even said that they didnt see me at all last yr. WTH! If they are really concerned about their child's performance, think they could have contacted me last yr. How can a teahcer be uncontactable at all if they jus tried callling the school? Just call the office and in due time (i.e. one day), the teacher will get back to you.

3) My colleague specifically told them tat their "new teacher" (a practicum teahcer) would jus teach them for a short period of time. Even when the prac teacher is teaching, my colleague went inside too. So wat is the matter wif the parent?

4) P3 onli and they wan remedial ????!!!!!!!!! Even i told my tuition kids' tat tuition for the kids should onli start in P4. Cos i feel tat P3 is a too young age to face the pressure of tuition. If they wan their child (P1 to P3) to improve their results, they could juz supervise their child. Work closely wif the sch teacher and things shld improve.

Conclusion: THey blame the sch on their daughter's relectance to learn Chinese nw.

I think i managed to change a lot over the yrs. I used to be very impulsive and wld usually raise a racket when things like tat happen. Interestingly, today i jus kept my fury under blankets. I jus listened and listened without opening my mouth too much. haha...

V interesting to see some pple( esp my head) trying her best to act as if she was trying to speak up for us when she kept showing others the letter. Hmmmm... Hw intersting! How annoying! How irritating!

101 Post

Has been almost 2 years since i first created a blog. Due to some reasons, my initial blog was closed down and it gave way to this new blog.

Finally, I am at my 101st blog. Wow... Like some great achievement or something! haha..

Went to watch 3 movies during this short holiday. Horton, The Water Horse and August Rush. Horton was more of the animae type of movie, like lion king and stuff. Jokes were quite lame and most of the time, i can sense crows flying past by.

Water Horse was nt bad. It tells the story of the Loch Ness monster. Its a movie tat will pull every heartstring. The child actor skills was good.

August Rush is another moviue nt to be missed. Wonder why the producer choose such an unflattering movie title. The movie is abt an abandoned child who strive to find his biological parents. The ending is so touching that it makes ur heart feels as if htye jusa stepped on some lemons. If you onli hav $6 left, it must be August Rush tat you muz watch. (Yah, Cathay movie tic are onli $6 if you pay by UOB on a week day.)

Human being are a very special type of animal, though in close relations with the primates. I wonder how the children and grand children of Ah Meng felt when Ah Meng jus left the world without saying anything. Will they feel the loss of a loved one or will they jus go on with their everyday life?

Sometimes, we are so accustomed to someone that we might take them for granted. Once we take things for granted, we tend to overlook some details and hence, start to neglect. Some wrongs can be undone but most likely nt most of the times. No matter how much the other party can do, they is jus some things that the wrongs cannot be untied. THe knot is jus a died knot, nvr to be pry opened. "好马不吃回头草。" Its jus nt pple wan to make this saying real tat they do wat they are doing but jus tat, they cant jus bury the hachet and move on as if nothing has happen. You don hurt a person and then jus say sorry and carry on as if nothing has happened.

Few are those who can forgive your mistakes and none are those who can forgive your grave mistakes.

Lesson learnt

School holiodays ncmg to an end alr. Why so soon. This sch holiday nt productive at all. Went to sch almost everyday but like do minimal work onli. Nr perform up to schedule, haha..

Went for KTV with Ivy, ellen, tian tian, esther and amber. Had a lot on my mind and hence wasnt really enjoying. Esther has prob with her kid on her mind too. Hence, the two of us were like nt participating actively. Hope it didnt dampen the fun.

After KTV, i went clubbing wif other friends. Don know wat happen actually but kept on drinking like no one's biz. End up getting drunk and my friend had to drive me back. After a satisfying round of vommitting in my toilet bowl. i went to slp without bathing. The result==> MAJOR hangover today morning!

Lesson learnt::::: Nvr get drun. Can get high BUT nt drunk. Drunk makes wat is bad even worse.

Familiar Sights

Went to bring my youngest bro to Pasir Ris Bus interchange to go Pulau Tekong recntly. Hence we reached there early, we decided to walk around to pass time.

The trip ard White Sands Shopping Centre brought back mnay memories.

THe trip to Pulau Tekong was indeed unerasable. My parents were sending me in my dad merc. I was feeling very sianz lor. It was drizzling and nervousness took over my anxiety. Tons of butterflies were fluttering inside and my "irritating" mum was still asking me whether i remember to bring this, remember to bring tat. Arghh...


When i reach tekong, my parents were taken to a visit ard tekong while i was brought to another place to register myself. The feeling is sianz....

After the oath taking and lunch, my parents proceed to go back to mainland while i was left alone in the stupid island. The feeling is 1000000000 X more sianz. As i look back on my parents back, i began to miss home. Nvr thought i will miss home.

Luckily, 3 mths passed very quickly. I POP (Passing Out Parade) in a twinkle of an eye and managed to went thru everything without much difficulty. Its a kind of achievement every guy should go thru. Its a chance nt to be missed for all the wealth on earth.

My first LJ in TVPS

No no... LJ is not the normal vulgarity you might think of. LJ means Learning Journey. I went with my class (2 Hope) to my first visit to Botanical Gardens.

Actually, the date clash with my marking of CA1 chinese pprs. But then, i didnt know of the actual day of chinese ppr (or rather i was ignorant of it). Hence, had to bge very thick skin to tell my LH (Level Head) that i cant mark the pprs together with the rest of the dept as i am gg out.

Cuase i am teaching the majority of this class chinese, so i am nt really unfamiliar with them. A few of my "God sons and daughter" actually wanted to sit with me. haha.. Quite funny lor. THe way they argue their way thru. In the end, the monitor gt the chance to sit with me. THe feeling quite fuuny. Like i some sort of celebrity, arguing with one another to sit with me. But tis is the way of the lwr pri students. Once they move up to upper pri, its a totally different case.

Though the trip was tiring, it was quite fun at the same time. The way the little monsters gt excited at many many different things. haha... Kids.........

Chinese New Year (Final)

See the 1st Pic? I was so surprised to see this on the altar in my family. For years, my mum used to buy real pineapples to offer at the altar. When she saw this "fake pineapple" last yr, she even commented that how can they replaced the real thing with this thingy? But haha... Tis yr she also do the same thing lor. But for the 4 guys @ home, we have no objection. I prefer jelly anytime to the real pineapple.

2nd pic: Went to one of my colleague's house to "bai nian". Never expect her to give me an ang pow though i was contantly urging her to give me an ang pow, haha.. The design quite cute lor. Like Hummdy Dumpdy.

3rd Pic: This is the pair of oranges that accompanied me to every house visit throughout the 15 days of celebration. I just put a pair of orangbes in my car just in case i last min gg someone's house to "bai nian" and don hav any oranges on hand.

4th Pic: On the 15th day, decided to lao yu sheng with my family. THough my dad and youngest bro nt there, i still decided to go buy the yu sheng cause this is something i really like ans its nt available 365 days a year. Bout at Sakae Sushi for less than $18. Quite worth it, though the crystal jade one was much nicer (but more ex)

One term has come to an end. Finally can take a break from the crowd of ongoing mad rush of students and work. Had upteen things to blog about but will onli do so in the following days...

Had a BBQ session @ Esther's place jus nw. Was a good one. Had represetatives from all PLCs, heheh... Managed to find out more info abt each PLC and their views on the various issues.

One thing i didnt expect... My hair colour is one of the hot topic in school. Pple who know me since Sec days will know i am mentally towards more of the Bengz type. However, i didnt expect almost all the PLC were talking abt my hair colour. Initially, i know my dept and IR2 was talking abt it. Today then i realise tat even Ohana was talking abt it! Woah... My hair colour is not exactly screaming for attention lor. Its jus tat i bleach some parts of my hair then i dye my hair. But pple starts saying," Matthew, your hair colour a bit special ar... Even when i nt in sch, i also know abt it.."

Heh heh. But i don care bahz. Tis is the real me ever since I discovered hair colouring during JC times. It was torturous for the last 6 mths to keep black/dark brown hair. Nw the principal says can dye hair alr, then of course i can dye the way i wanted it, juz nt too screaming for attention (ie yellow,white).

All guys and gals! Go! Dye ur hair.....
